What a Disk Cleaner Should Actually Remove
The Windows built-in Disk Cleanup is fine for obvious temp files, but it barely makes a dent. The harder part is finding what actually fills the drive in the first place. SoftOrbits Cleaner scans for it and lists each category with its size, so you can finally see where the gigabytes went. It clears temporary files and the system cache. It empties the thumbnail cache, the prefetch folder, and the Recycle Bin. Browser history and cookies go too, along with the recent-documents and clipboard trails Windows quietly keeps. Then it deletes the invalid registry entries that pile up after every install. Hit Scan, look over the full list, then Clean. On a drive that has not been cleaned in a year, that is often several gigabytes back.
